Let Us Celebrate!

After 50 years of changing the world through Texas State, it's time to pause and celebrate and thank the Lord of the Harvest. Cru at (Southwest) Texas State has a rich legacy of changing lives through the gospel and disciple-making. Perhaps you are a direct part of history or maybe indirectly through your prayers and giving.

ā€‹

We are calling out to all alumni and friends of Cru at Texas State to come celebrate largely what God has done here. It promises to be a fun and festive night that will linger as you reconnect with old friends or reconnect to the vision and mission of Cru. Either way, we want to invite you to join us on the beautiful Hill Country campus of Texas State University (... or SWT for you die-hards). What a celebration that evening will be. Go Cats Go!

ā€‹

NOTE: The evening is free for all guests. However, there will be a giving opportunity that evening for Cru at Texas State.

Keynote Speaker

Dr. Kelly Damphousse

Before joining Texas State, President Damphousse served as chancellor of Arkansas State University in Jonesboro for five years. He previously served as associate dean and dean of the College of Arts and Sciences at the University of Oklahoma.

He leads from the top but he never met a stranger and he is a friend to all. He is accessible to anyone who has a question, a concern, or just wants to talk. Kelly was adopted and his adoptive parents took in foster children throughout his childhood, which left him with a passion for justice and inclusion. He is a first-generation student who personally knows the life-changing impression that higher education can have on a student’s life.  His life was also impacted through a Christian student organization when he was an undergraduate student at Sam Houston State. That impact carries on in his life today. Led by the guiding principle that everyone matters, Kelly is steadfast in ensuring that all are welcome, all belong, and all are heard.

In addition to his university responsibilities, Kelly is actively engaged in athletics at a national level. Currently, he serves on the NCAA Board of Directors and the NCAA Board of Governors, and as president of the Sun Belt Conference Board of Directors. He also served as the Faculty Athletics Representative at University of Oklahoma for five years.
